Nike LunarGlide+ Women’s Running Shoes

It’s hard to please every woman (not to offend anyone); we all know that.

Furthermore, please them with just one shoe?  Nike are simply crazy, or are they? The new Women’s LunarGlide+ is said to be targeted at absolutely everyone, well, it’s a pretty amazing shoe for a lot of different types of runners. I bought a pair for my girlfriend as a Christmas present. Having tried the pair on, she immediately felt the difference to her old pair and I recall her saying:

“I no longer experience the pain that I was getting with my previous shoes. These shoes were good-to-go straight out of the box-no breaking in required. They are very soft, cushy and lightweight. When I first picked them up, I was skeptical because of how light they were, but after the first run in them, I was hooked, there’s no doubt about that.  I would recommend them to anyone, whether it’s for running or going to the gym.”

As for the price, I remember paying exactly $100 for them which wasn’t quite (my girlfriend is happy so I have nothing to complain about) bad because of the incredible features it includes. Check out the following video:

I know this commercial Nike video is old, but its among my favorites, so dug this up. Some of the yesteryear Nike Football ads were top notch, something thats become a rarity nowadays.

Remember those underground martial arts movies, well, this is the football version of it. It amazes me, what these guys can do with a football. On display are a class generation of footballers, Henry, Totti, Ronaldo, Carlos, Figo and Cantona as speaker. Thrilling!

Nike Freddy Krueger shoes – “Horror Pack”

IMGP1752Nike has a reputation for releasing shoes based on horror flicks. previous releases include shoes that were based on a ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ and ‘Friday the 13th’ and it came as no surprise when they released Nike “Freddy Kruger” Edition, a shoe thats based on your favorite scary guy, in the movie, Nightmare on Elm Street.

Needless to say, this shoe has a bizarre bloody design, it sports green and red stripes with blood-like stains all over. The top has the Nike Logo that looks like a claw and goes well with the general theme of the shoe, while the bottom has Freddys skin. The inside of the shoe has Freddy’s face.

This is obviously not your typical sports shoe, so the mid-sole cushioning isn’t ideal for exercise or sports use, however, its a niche product thats fairly comfortable for casual use.

Personally, this shoe isn’t for me, it looks bloodied, ragged and stained and is bit too aggressive for my tastes, but then, they are attention grabbers and make for the perfect halloween purchase.

This pair forms part of Nike’s casual luxury section. It is very hard to find a pair of these in any high street store, trust me, I’ve already looked everywhere! Moreover, they are only available in few selected stores. So if you really want to buy a pair, I suggest you have a look online, there are a couple of websites that sell these for good prices (Note: Be careful with some websites, you never know whether the shoes are real or fake copies – buy from well-known sites such as Amazon).

Even though they’re in the luxury category, their price is relatively low: £45.00

It might be hard to believe but this men’s fashion inspired by Nike is made to pair with a nice pair of denim jeans! It features a lightweight, low profile stamped leather upper, a large tonal Swoosh logo plus Nike branding on the “tongue” and heel piece all on top off the contrast white mid sole. It also features metallic silver eyelets and a grippy black outsole.

Unfortunately, they’re only available only at JD Sports and their price is £49.99, not bad if you ask me!

Nike Zoom skyposite Yi Jianlian PE

The new Nike Zoom skyposite Yi Jianlian PE were made especially for the New Jersey Nets. In order for the pair to coincide with the New Jersey Nets colour scheme; they used a predominant pearl colored carbon Fiber base with red and blue accents.

As for my opinion, the new sneaker comes in a cool blue midsole and white outer sole. The sneaker’s grey shoelaces are my personal favourite as they contrast really well with the other bright colours. All in all, the design could have not been made any better, it’s simply perfect!

Some background information: Jianlian’s logo was placed on the sneaker’s “tongue” in red. Rating: 4.8/5

Why carry both your iPod and a pedometer?

The Nike + iPod Sport Kit includes a pedometer that fits inside Nike+ ready shoes and communicates wirelessly with your iPod nano – very clever, eh? The pedometer provides audible and visual readouts of your time (appear on your iPod), speed, and distance while listening to music or podcast workouts. Note: this system is meant to be used for walking or running workouts rather than total daily steps.

The Good

There’s no doubt that it is one of the best workout companions ever to have been made. What could be better than listening to music and at the same time receiving information (by voice feedback – optional) such as the total distance travelled and the number of calories burnt? Furthermore, the special Nike+ shoes are not a requirement.

The Bad

One of the main disadvantages is the fact that this is basically a “disposable product”, therefore the non-rechargeable, non-replaceable battery will eventually run out after approximately 1000 active hours of regular use (assuming you turn off the transmitter after each workout session). Another unnecessary expense: the Nike+ shoes retail at about $100-$120.
